1.Collection of Personal Data

1.1. The information you provide to the Construction Industry Council, its affiliates, and/or its subsidiaries in the construction industry, including the Hong Kong Institute of Construction, Zero Carbon Building, Construction Sector Imported Labour Quarters Limited, and any entity being a subsidiary of or affiliated to the entities abovementioned (each, the "CIC Entity", and together, the "CIC Entities"), including any personal data as defined in the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Chapter 486 of the Laws of Hong Kong) ("PDPO"), or in other data protection laws as and where appropriate, including the General Data Protection Regulation in the European Union, and the Personal Information Protection Law in the People's Republic of China, (together, "Applicable Laws"), will be used solely for purposes related to the activities of the CIC Entities as further set out in paragraph 2 hereinbelow. The activity and the required personal data to be collected by the CIC Entities are detailed in the applicable application form.

1.2. The provision of your personal data to any CIC Entity is voluntary. However, where you are providing information for the purpose of an application to the CIC Entities, it is necessary that you supply the CIC Entities with complete and updated information as specified on the applicable application form. Otherwise, the CIC Entities may be unable to process or consider your application.

1.3. You are entitled to request access to and/or correct any errors in your personal data. Any such request will be processed in accordance with the PDPO and/or the Applicable Laws. The CIC Entities may apply a reasonable administrative charge for providing you with access and/or correction to your personal data in response to such request.

2.Purposes of Collection

Your personal data will be kept confidential and may be collected/processed by the CIC Entities for the following purposes:

1. Creating user account for the CIC Carbon Assessment Tool;
2. Enabling the use of functions on the CIC Carbon Assessment Tool;
3. Facilitating communication with you;
4. Performing and exercising functions and powers of the CIC Entities under relevant legislation, rules and sub-legislation in or outside of Hong Kong, including but not limited to the Construction Industry Council Ordinance (Chapter 587 of the Laws of Hong Kong) and Construction Workers Registration Ordinance (Chapter 583 of the Laws of Hong Kong);
5. Enforcing the CIC Entities' rights or performing the CIC Entities' statutory functions pursuant to applicable laws (including commencing and defending legal processes, proceedings or claims), and complying with the CIC Entities’ legal and regulatory obligations (including but not limited to anti-money laundering obligations, complying with orders by courts or regulators) under applicable laws in or outside Hong Kong as may be required by applicable government authorities, courts, law enforcement, regulatory, public or statutory bodies;
6. Managing access to the CIC Entities’ premises/platforms/systems and for security purposes;
7. Preventing and responding to actual or potential security threats, fraud or illegal activities;
8. Handling complaints or enquiries with the CIC Entities to perform the CIC Entities' statutory functions and services;
9. Performing analysis and conducting research and surveys to improve the CIC Entities' performance of statutory functions and services;
10. Performing audits and compliance reviews to ensure compliance with the applicable CIC Entities’ policies and procedures, regulations and/or law in or outside of Hong Kong;
11. For detecting, investigating and preventing crimes;
12. For developing and training artificial intelligence ("AI") systems, personalizing the CIC Entities' services, and gaining insights with the help of AI, automated systems, and inference; and
13. Any other purposes that you may consent to from time to time.

3.Disclosure and Transfer of Personal Data to Third Parties

3.1. The CIC Entities may disclose and/or transfer your personal data to the following third parties in or outside of Hong Kong for the purposes as stated in paragraph 2:

1. Any or all of the CIC Entities’ affiliates and/or subsidiaries listed in paragraph 1.1 above;
2. Any third party service providers, contractors/sub-contractors that, on behalf of the CIC Entities, operate or maintain membership, event registration, tour booking, research and/or analyses, or carry out back-end services, administrative services, verification services, cloud services or information technology services, or provide necessary support or services to the CIC Entities to enable the CIC Entities to provide their services, including any insurance, banking or third party payment gateways services used by the CIC Entities; or
3. Any of the CIC Entities’ professional advisors, including but not limited to their lawyers, accountants and/or auditors.

3.2. We may disclose and/or transfer your personal data in accordance with the Applicable Laws, regulatory requirements, any court order, any order from law enforcement agencies, and/or statutory bodies in or outside of Hong Kong which are applicable to the CIC Entities.

3.3. Where personal data are to be disclosed and/or transferred to third parties in jurisdictions outside of Hong Kong, the CIC Entities will follow the requirements in the applicable laws.

4. This Personal Information Collection Statement ("PICS") should be read in conjunction with the CIC Entities' Privacy Policy Statement ("PPS") at https://www.cic.hk/eng/main/privacy_policy_statement/. The CIC Entities reserve the right to update this PICS at any time.

5. In the event of any inconsistencies and/or discrepancies between the English and Chinese version of this PICS, the English version shall prevail.
